Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

The goal of this position is to enhance a student’s educational and career goals. HR & Payroll is offering paid developmental opportunities through online webinars, conferences, & local networking events. Candidates will be able to choose their HR/Payroll focus: engaging in the payroll process, HR management, employment law, compliance, employee onboarding, training, recruitment, and/or staff recognition.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as reception during shifts
  • Assist in directory update project
  • Assist in flexible/remote work database update project
  • 5S project: Assisting in surplus and removal of items/paperwork no longer needed.
  • Assist in managing the UND Careers Social Media
  • Compensation Equity Project

Required Competencies

  • Demonstrate acceptance and respect for diversity
    Ability to set and meet task deadlines
    Strong organizational skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Current Human Resources Management Major
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Acceptance of a Federal Work Study award for the applicable term
  • Enrolled in at least six credits for the applicable term
  • Successful completion of a criminal history records check

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Experience with standard office technology (ex. copy machine, scanner)
