LEAD TECHNICAL SPECIALIST - MANUFATURING TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

Who We Are:

The Mechanical Fabrication Center consists of two distinct areas of craft technicians. The Machine Shop creates precision machined components utilizing the equipment available. The Fabrication Shop is an accredited ASME Pressure Vessel production operation that engages structural and piping efforts.

Objectives of this Role:

• Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
• Support bidding / scheduling activities to review labor, material and other production costs, along with schedule input for choke points and opportunities to gain greater efficiencies.
• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests from both clients and craft people.
• Maintain and evolve the Global Shop Solutions (GSS) ERP program within the department.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Develop Order of Operations process for existing and new projects.
• Create SwRI Bidder forms quotes.
• Create Process and Material Flow Charts
• Provide e-mail and phone support for internal and external customers.
• Facilitate MFC Work Order creation and processing.

Requirements:

• Requires an Associates or a Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or related field with applicable experience.
• 10 years: ERP and MRP Programs, ISO Standards, Project Orientated Production Control Activities for those with a Bachelors degree.
• 15 years: ERP and MRP Programs, ISO Standards, Project Orientated Production Control Activities for those with an Associates degree.
• A valid/clear driver's license is required.
