As a key member of the Enterprise Growth leadership team, this person will lead all aspects of marketing for Humana Inc. Reporting to the President, Enterprise Growth, the CMO is responsible for leading her/his teams in the development and execution of business-building marketing strategies to advance the Humana and CenterWell brands and P&Ls with current and prospective customers, establish a consistent and compelling stakeholder narrative, differentiate our offerings, and drive a strong and positive reputation in the marketplace. The leader will align the marketing function and with key segment leaders to pursue business objectives, prioritize strategies, and maximize both the impact and efficacy of Humana’s marketing investment, culminating in sustainable growth.The leader will play a key role in accelerating the company’s transition from an insurance company with healthcare services to a truly integrated healthcare company. She/he will drive a data driven approach to marketing, advancing the skills and capabilities of the marketing organization, continue to drive agile ways of working as well as the evolution of the technology and data platforms that support Humana’s marketing function. The role is also responsible for marketing operations, performance, the market research function which includes the voice of the customer research and the internal creative agencyThis leader will serve as the company’s brand steward, unifying the corporate brand and product marketing strategy to support Humana’s business transformation while continuing to build on Humana’s strong customer heritage and deep market relationships.Leading an organization of approximately 800, the direct reports to this role are:• VP, Insurance Services Marketing• VP, Pharmacy Marketing• VP, Primary Care and Home Solutions Marketing• VP, Marketing Technology and Data Platforms• VP, Marketing PracticesKey Responsibilities:• Define long term strategy and approach to drive tangible business results via marketing; assess existing state and outline capability gaps and roadmap to achieve.• Identify trends in consumer healthcare industry, monitor competitors, and engage with consumers to develop differentiated strategies to win, underscored by consumer insights.• Define marketing strategies to support the company’s business and growth objectives for each of the business segments.• Drive marketing strategy for digitally enabled customer experiences that drive demand, sales and customer engagement.• Set the strategic vision for Humana Inc. as a platform brand to include enterprise-branding, brand architecture to identify and address customer needs and increase recurring revenue, both for Humana and CenterWell branded businesses• Help strengthen customer perceptions of Humana and CenterWell as trusted healthcare payer and provider.• Define priorities for organization, gain buy in on investment needs and agreed ROI, oversee resourcing model.• Lead, retain and develop a high-performing marketing team that is accomplished, capable, focused and has the right skills to adapt to the changing environment.Use your skills to make an impactKey Candidate Qualifications:• This exceptional marketing leader will bring depth in building a world-class performance and brand marketing programs• Ability to work in a matrixed environment, and to serve as player/coach for a diverse team of marketing leaders• Success creating and delivering impactful marketing strategies and plans in innovative environments and those going through transformation.• This leader will be able to cultivate an environment that supports fast decision making and accountability across the team; they will be experienced at identifying and developing key talent, attracting new marketing talent to an organization, and optimizing the marketing function to perform at the highest levels.• This leader will be comfortable in a roll-up-your-sleeves environment and exhibits a curious and inquisitive approach• An exceptional marketing strategist, this leader will also demonstrate focus on action and execution, constantly taking initiative and proactively looking for new opportunities to leverage marketing to advance Humana’s brands and objectives.• The ideal candidate will have a hunger for being on the forefront of what’s next; an intuitive understanding and passion for technology and driving customer-centric marketing initiatives; and possess a desire to push the envelope through creativity, innovation, and narrative.The ideal candidate will bring the following:• 20+ years of progressive experience transforming brands and engaging customers through strong marketing programs, digital platforms and integrating new brands through M&A activities• Previous experience building or transforming a platform brand• 20+ years of experience managing collaborative teams, providing direction, guidance and driving to established goals in support of the company strategy• 20+ years of experience at a large organization with a focus on developing and implementing strategies and initiatives to improve lead generation, customer retention and growth by targeting customers’ evolving business needs• Experience establishing and executing the company marketing strategy for a large, complex, multi-business unit organization• Experience in a regulated industry is preferred• Experience leveraging business analytics, market conditions and customer trends to establish the strategy and execute marketing programs across all channels and platforms• Experience working collaboratively across a large organization and functions to ensure customer engagement and the effective implementation of the company and marketing strategy• Recognized communication and presentation skills• Bachelor’s or undergraduate in Business, Marketing, Sales, Digital Marketing, Data & Analytics, or a closely related fieldScheduled Weekly Hours40About usHumana Inc.
