Gettysburg College is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week – 4/10hr days) HVAC 2nd Shift Mechanic to work in the Facilities Services Department. The position performs a variety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning duties to maintain, adjust, overhaul, and repair the Campus’ heating, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. This position also requires some basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical repairs.
Status: Full-Time Support Staff
Hourly rate: $23.00 per hour, negotiable depending upon experience
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with at least three years of progressively responsible HVAC and boiler experience. EPA certification in refrigerant transition and recovery is required. This position also requires some basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical repairs. Occasional overtime hours and other shift work may be required, such as snow removal duties, inclement weather emergencies, power outages, and some ceremonial campus events.
