Global Media Relations - Vice President

 About the Role 

As part of the iCapital Marketing team, and reporting to the Global Head of Corporate Communications, the Media Relations Vice President will serve as a strategic communications leader responsible for driving global external communications and media relations strategy and the narratives to enhance and protect iCapital’s reputation.

Responsibilities 

  • Lead media relations strategy and tactical plan for iCapital and oversee the development of external business narrative that will be reflected in press announcements and leadership quotes, media engagement, executive social media, and thought leadership. 
  • Build an impactful storytelling program through development and execution of next generation editorial strategy that can be amplified through all corporate channels including web, social channels, and paid media sponsorships. 
  • Lead strategic media machine; Develop and nurture strong relationships with select number of top tier business, financial, broadcast press; develop a plan for earned, owned, and paid media relations.   
  • Build high performance, hybrid news bureau to effectively plan and pitch, manage, and respond to press inquiries.  Manage how the company prepares and responds to public relations matters that support corporate reputation programs and marketing campaigns. 
  • Act as public relations and media strategy counsel and partner with senior marketing and business leaders and foster relationships across the iCapital enterprise. 
  • Manage the iCapital.com Newsroom, including company’s press releases and media statements, signature announcements and strategic updates, and the media asset library.  
  • Manage the PR Agency(s) teams supporting our media relations and external communications shaping the perceptions of iCapital. 
  • Create the appropriate KPIs and Metric dashboards to measure media audiences’ perception and influence within our overall go to market strategies and corporate reputation.  

 

Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of prior media relations experience managing hybrid teams preferably for a financial services firm.  Former financial services industry beat reporter a plus 
  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in the development and execution of external communications and media relations for large financial services firms 
  • Deep and broad business acumen, solid understanding of iCapital’s business and its technology platform, clients, and the public and private markets 
  • Passion for communication is a must, with excellent written and verbal skills and strong attention to detail 
  • Exceptional organizational, strategic thinking, problem solving, project management, and process development skills, with the ability to balance short- and long-term priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Self-starter with sound judgment and strong interpersonal and relationship management skills 
  • Experience in Financial Services, Technology, Fintech, or other fast-moving industries is required 
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of work experience required  

Benefits 

The base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
