Regional Director of Program Innovation - IDEA Cincinnati (Immediate Opening)

Role Mission:

The Regional Director of Program Innovation develops the vision and drives program for Athletics, Visual & Performing Arts, and After School Enrichment leading to student success, persistence, and delivering on the mission of IDEA Public Schools. The Regional Director of Program Innovation oversees select pilot programs at schools and the implementation of signature programs based on research and data.

The Regional Director of Program Innovation develops IDEA Greater Cincinnati through new partnerships, programs, or projects in collaboration with the Executive Director, Regional Family Engagement Manager, Regional Student & Family Services Manager, and local community.

 

 

Accountabilities

 

Strategic Planning and Program Development  

  • Own, design, and facilitate processes for the design and documentation of strategic goals, outcomes, and related projects; develop and disseminate the project plans aligned with strategic objectives related to Athletics, Visual & Performing Arts, and After School Enrichment 
  • Design, facilitate and serve as accountability partner to the Executive Director for short-term, annual, and long-term team planning for sports, the arts, and other enrichment experiences
  • Design and manage region-wide communication systems in service of team effectiveness & efficiency  
  • Seeks and leverages feedback from all teammates in service of team effectiveness & efficiency and to support the Executive Director to determine key areas for focus and ensure core calendars reflect those areas
  • Develop & ensure effective implementation of key processes & tools to support project portfolio management for all project components- including budget analysis, change management, & deliverables
  • Develop & manage all Program Innovation operational process and design, revise, approve and communicate program & operations guidance that is effective and ensures consistent operations across Cincinnati Regional Team

 

Community Partnerships & Development

  • Develop strategic plan for the region around community engagement and partnerships leading to year over year improvements in enrollment and student persistence goal attainment
  • Secure short- and long-term partnerships with local organizations, funders, and supporters that create opportunities for IDEA Greater Cincinnati students in alignment with enrichment plans
  • Invest community leaders in the mission of IDEA and successful execution of college for all students through regular cadence of engagement, collateral development, on site visits, and speaking opportunities

 

 

Portfolio and Budget Management:  

  • Set project planning standards to determine fiscal resources and human capacity to deliver on strategies for over
  • Manage budget planning processes and proforma projection for budget related to Program Innovation based on discretionary funds and external sources;  
  • Establish and manage the strategy/project change process as it relates to budget & act as liaison between regional team and national team
  • Manage and oversee the contract process for over contracts for IDEA Cincinnati to include all contract activities, such as: vendor review & support, scope of work creation, cost negotiation, compliance, and support of each contract through IDEA’s internal contract procurement process

 

People Management, Coaching, and Development

  • Serve as coach to Athletic Coordinators on developing implementation & monitoring processes and systems for team leadership 
  • Coordinate, organize, monitor, and fulfill Professional Development cycles and planning logistics for athletic coordinators, art teachers, and enrichment staff in the region
  • Complete campus and district analytic reports in accordance with annual/monthly operating plans
  • Oversee the compensation of athletics officials and league fees, if applicable.
  • Monitor and track certifications and requirements of Athletic Coordinators
  • Coordinate the correspondence of league and district news, policies and programming through multiple mediums. 
  • Maintain and update the athletic website, including athletic schedules
  • Execute strategies to ensure that athletics at IDEA Cincinnati are well run successful programs that attain district, regional, and state championships.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s required; Master’s Degree (Preferred)
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in the following key areas:
    • Coaching adults and work in multiple environments
    • Developing strategy for large organizations
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders in other functional areas
    • Proven track record of achieving success and of leading others
    • Exceptional organization, prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Licenses or Certifications (if applicable):

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Develop a clear vision and strategies for district wide programs
  • Ensure high-quality implementation of athletics, visual, and performing art, and enrichment initiatives in all schools.
  • Support the effectiveness of campus and regional teams
  • Work with senior leaders to develop strategy
  • Develop and execute IDEA’s vision for college readiness while coordinating with other key stakeholders

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds at times
  • Ability to complete periodic travel required for meetings, in-field observations, trainings and conferences

Compensation & Benefits:

 

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $81,800 and $95,800, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
