Role Mission:

The regional intervention coach will oversee their regional portfolio of schools in ensuring that they are providing high-quality instruction and intervention for their English Learner (EL) and Critical Student Intervention (CSI) students through data analysis and auditing, coaching leaders during general classroom support, intervention classes, and providing professional development opportunities for staff.

Location:

This is a full-time onsite position located in Austin, TX. Preference will be given to candidates who live in the region, or who are willing to relocate.

 

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate with national partners and other regional coaches to design and assist with delivering professional development for regional and campus teams around CSI and EB buckets (Program Training, SIOP, etc.)
  • Deliver exceptional professional development around CSI and EB buckets which directly impact effective systems and increase leader and teacher capacity to transform and increase student academic achievement.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with national, regional team members, campus leaders, and classroom teachers around CSI and EB priorities and programming. Hold consistent Business Partnerships with regional and campus leaders.
  • Coach and develop campus leaders through the School Leadership Levers (SLLs) and ensure the coaching cycle is followed with fidelity on behalf of campus leaders to classroom teachers and ensure observations are detailed in Teach Boost
  • Work must be divided into the approximate percentages: 50% EB work, 40% CSI work and 10% Regional work and Operating Mechanisms
  • Provide support and assistance to classroom teachers and campus leaders in the full and skillful implementation of integrated and designated English Language Development (ELD) and Critical Student Intervention (CSI).
  • Conduct classroom observations, specific to language development and provides coaching support for all teachers and leaders with clear next steps and follow-up process.
  • Provide on-site staff development to ensure that teachers are knowledgeable about data-driven learning and effective instructional strategies related to English Language Development (ELD) and Critical Student Intervention (CSI).
  • Support teachers and leaders in building an interactive classroom environment focused on the content and learning strategies embedded into established curriculum/curricula.
  • Conduct demonstration and model lessons in classroom to ensure that all teachers and leaders have been trained to an advanced level of delivery and are using instructional materials as designed, specific to integrated and designated ELD.
  • Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement for all students including English Learners, students enrolled in Special Education Programs, and students with diverse learning needs.
  • Participate in collaborative regional (and occasionally campus) level meetings to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve English learner and Critical student achievement.
  • Meet regularly with the regional leaders and campus principals/lead teams to review District/site-required assessment English learner and Critical Student data and to assess the outcomes of EL and CSI achievement goals.
  • Support campus English Learner coordinators and CSI point people in the identification and reclassification process of emergent bilingual and critical students.
  • Ensures 100% of required EB documents are obtained and maintained at the campus level using Ellevation
  • Support campuses with the mock TELPAS and TELPAS assessment windows
  • Complete Time & Effort for position funding


What You Bring – Competencies:

Required experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Bilingual or ESL Certification, or must obtain certification within first 30 days 
  • 1-3 years of related experience

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $78,900 and $92,000, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
