IFS's Energy & Resources team is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to join their team! The Systems Administrator has significant experience with operating systems (Linux). They are thoroughly familiar with software delivery paradigms (Software as a Service, Client / Server, etc.). They have full understanding of all technologies needed to deploy the applications their team is responsible for. They can execute architectural direction within the department and can provide direct input to development groups to improve the applications deployed to the IFS Cloud service. They will also provide L2-L3 technical support for their team and for customers.Day to Day Responsibilities• Configure mostly Linux (some Windows) virtual servers and their related technologies• Perform IFS application upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve related problems• Automate processes to support workflows and simplify daily operations• Identify and implement system admin best practices• Provide L2-L3 support for internal and external customers• Maintain technical/process documentationOccasionally• Isolate and identify performance, availability, and security issues as they are occurring• Onboard and troubleshoot new technologies or versions• Hold on-call responsibilitiesLooking for Someone who is:• Passionate about technology, viewed as an expert by your peers• Obsessive about automating routine tasks• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, able to articulate complex technical ideas to diverse non-technical audiences• Able to solve problems quickly with strong desire for root cause analysis• Intuitive and curious to learn as an individual but also in an established team• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or equivalent related experience.• 5+ years experience in Linux systems administration and/or developmentRequired skills• Full understanding of Linux systems administration and best practices• Advanced Bash scripting• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP• Citrix Application configuration and administration• Comprehensive understanding of network conceptsPreferred Skills• RHCSA or MCSA certification• UniData administration• Developer experienceWe believe that coming together as a community, in person, is important for innovation, connection and fostering a sense of belonging.
