The Role

We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Engineer Intern to join our Developer Experience Team for the Summer 2025 Internship program. This role provides hands-on experience in creating tools, improving workflows and optimizing the overall developer experience in our organization. You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Data, and Product teams to ensure everyone can be as productive as possible working on critical business operations.

Location

This role will be a hybrid work format, with time split between working remotely and working onsite from our New York HQ, 2-3 days a week as required by your manager.

What You’ll Do

  • Tool Development: Assist in building, and maintaining internal tools and frameworks that streamline the development process.

  • Code Quality & Standards: Contribute to improving coding practices, writing utilities, and ensuring consistent code quality through automated testing, linting, and documentation tools.

  • Developer Workflow Optimization: Analyze existing workflows to identify inefficiencies and propose/implement solutions for improvement.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data engineers, infrastructure engineers, and product managers, to understand their needs and provide effective solutions.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for tools, workflows, and best practices to empower other developers.

  • Exploration: Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in developer tools and advocate for adopting modern approaches when relevant.

What We’re Looking For

  • Incoming College Juniors, Seniors, or graduate students graduating in 2025-2026.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, or Java.

  • Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and efficiency.

  • Passion for developer productivity, tooling, and system performance optimization.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Bonus qualifications:

    • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

    • Familiarity with Kubernetes or involvement in cloud-native communities.

    • Familiarity with AI-driven development tools and/or prompt engineering.
