Insurity’s Next Software Engineer I
Insurity is seeking a Software Engineer I to contribute to the development and maintenance of our world class property and casualty insurance applications, working with a team of developers, business analysts, and QA.
What Our Software Engineer I Will Do
- Design: Design solutions to problems/defects with minimal supervision. After 18 months be able to understand and develop use cases to supplement business cases for technical development items.
- Development: Follows Insurity standards for coding, documentation and impact assessments. Provides first level of technical troubleshooting and defect remediation for customer, BA, and QA reported problems. Develop and present solutions for assigned problems and enhancements of basic to moderate complexity. After 18 months be able to develop technical documentation for software solutions for targeted audience, develop solutions for simple to moderately complex problems and enhancements individually, and estimate projects and solutions of simple to moderate complexity.
- Test: Write code and unit tests according to Insurity standards, following an approved technical solution, for moderately complex enhancements and bug fixes. Develop unit tests for code changes and assigned use cases. After 18 months be able to work with QA to identify impact and assist with test case development.
- Documentation: Able to comment code. Create an impact assessment doc.
- Effective Communication: Communicate effectively and proactively with leadership, team members, and peers. Provide peer reviews of other developers' code to help build a stronger team.
Who We’re Looking For
- Communication Skills: Good planning and communication skills in English, with a well-rounded technical knowledge.
- Technical Skills: Fluent in vb.net and HTML, WPF is a plus
- Modern Delivery Expertise: Software delivery experience in a customer-centric, flexible Enterprise SaaS environment.
Recommended Experience
- 2-4 years in software development.
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or related field (equivalent work experience may be considered).
- Knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance domain will be a plus.
- Travel within India and North America may be required (less than 10%).
