Indian Health Service Supervisory Physician (FP/GP) Deputy Clinical DirectorCrow Agency, MontanaSummary: A housing subsidy of up to $822.46 per pay period without dependents or $1,019.08 with dependents may be available. The Deputy Clinical Director (DCD) position is responsible for the direct administrative and clinical supervision of multiple assigned medical services departments, assisting the Clinical Director (CD) with overall administrative and clinical supervision of medical services in the entire Crow Service Unit.Responsibilities:The DCD position reports directly to the Crow Service Clinical Director (CD) and is responsible for:Direct administrative and clinical supervision of multiple assigned medical services departments.Assisting the CD with overall administrative and clinical supervision of medical services (outpatient, inpatient, emergency, surgical, anesthesia, and ancillary clinical departments).Working with the CD and other key executive members in management discussions, decisions, and policy-making.Serving as a liaison with medical societies, regional healthcare systems, Indian Health Service (IHS) facilities, and tribal leadership regarding healthcare delivery to IHS beneficiaries.Acting as the CD in the absence of the CD and representing the CD on the Executive Committee and Governing Board.Exercising overall supervisory responsibility in the absence of the Clinical Director.Providing direct patient care within the scope of clinical privileges.Requirements:Conditions of Employment:Selectee may be subject to a probationary/trial period.U.S. Citizenship is required.Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.This position is covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children.Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957; seasonal influenza immunization required for all staff.COVID-19 vaccination is required for all selectees prior to entrance on duty.Background investigation required.Qualifications:To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties. You must possess:Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited school.A current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a Physician.At least 1 year of supervised experience in a clinical setting.Minimum Qualifications:Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service. This includes mastery of medical concepts and principles obtained through education and training.Education:Strongly encouraged to submit a copy of your transcripts or a list of courses, including titles, credit hours, and grades.Additional Information:Per IHS policy, selectees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before entry on duty or have an approved exemption. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized. This position meets the criteria for PHS Commissioned Corps.
