Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites applicants for a Senior Accountant in the Office of Financial Operations (MGR180).The Senior Accountant performs accounting functions such as reconciling, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting financial information. The position posts general ledger journal entries, prepares account reconciliations, audit schedules, and contributes to management reporting. The Senior Accountant exercises independent judgment and discretion in planning and carrying out the details of work procedures and methods. This is a hands-on position, requiring the employee to be willing and able to work with all levels of data preparation.This is a non-represented management position.MINIMUM:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, equivalent accounting certificate, or equivalent number of accounting credits as a bachelor’s degree in AccountingPREFERRED:• Three years as a general ledger accountant in using a complex enterprise resource planning system (e.g., SAP, Banner) or• Two years prior audit experience with a public accounting firmCandidates must have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members.Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well in the interview(s).The work of this position occurs in a typical office environment. Although infrequent, periods of heavy exertion may occur.
