Job Details

The Industrial Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for promoting our services and product capability into the industrial market in their region.

What skills do you need?
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience in engineered products or capital goods industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years sales experience.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills; ability to build and maintain profitable, mutually beneficial business partnerships and relationships.
  • Experience in related industry with proven track record of selling, managing long sales lead times with multiple stakeholders, ideally to the industrial or water markets.
  • Ability to assess acceptability of the various products the company provides based on market needs and develop opportunities in viable markets.
  • Ability to gain access to key facility personnel and decision makers.
  • Outstanding communication, influencing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated but work as part of a small, focused team.
  • Technical aptitude; ability to read plans and specs, conduct site visits and determine applicability/implementation of products.
  • A proven closer and star performer.

What Competencies & Qualifications should you have?
  • The applicant should have demonstrated experience in solution selling and account management in the water and/or industrial process or capital goods industries.
  • The ability to develop a thorough understanding of the needs of the industry, its structure and key customers are essential.
  • The ability to identify needs, build relationships develop sales and be self-motivated is a prerequisite.
  • The ability to develop ongoing service agreements with customers.
  • Proven ability to cultivate opportunities, achieve sales and build the customer base.
  • Excellent communication skills, sales acumen and an ability to work with people from all backgrounds is required.
  • The ISM will use their skills and experience to 1) Work with Sales Representatives to identify and cultivate opportunities 2) Hold and assist with regional training seminars, 3) Participate in local and national tradeshows, 4) Assist in the development of articles, brochures, literature and other sales tools, and 5) Understanding of Strategic Buying processes, make needs analysis calls and ROI presentations to all individuals involved in the Buying Process, including but not limited to, Owners, Plant Management and personnel, Design Engineers and Engineering Consultants, Purchasing and Finance.
  • Ability to read plans and drawings, and mathematical skills are also an advantage.
  • Experience working with Manufacturer’s Sales Representatives

What would you do?
  • Manage and promote our service capabilities to the industrial market.
  • Assist in achieving the annual budgeted sales targets and overall company business plan requirements.
  • Conduct sales visits to industrial facilities, corporate headquarters and specifying engineers including Engineering Consultancies.
  • Develop and present products and associated services to client’s utilizing all available media including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Obtain purchase orders as the result of successful negotiations.
  • Responsible for meeting/exceeding agreed upon sales order targets.
  • Assist, as necessary, with the submittal approval process.
  • Maintain current, complete and accurate records within CRM database.
  • Attend conferences, seminars and manage the company booth when exhibiting.
  • Help develop sales tools needed to promote the products in various industries.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of company sales and marketing strategy.
  • Provide product sales literature, binders and technical papers to prospective clients.
  • Follow-up marketing and sales inquiries.
  • Assist with site evaluations and creating opportunities for pilot/demonstration projects and data collection.
  • Perform duties in accordance with all relevant legislation in particular, the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • To apply requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 as appropriate within the areas of responsibility.
  • Other duties which the company may reasonably require the individual to undertake.

Physical & Other Requirements:
  • Domestic travel 50%-70%.
  • International travel occasionally.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Valid Passport.
  • US citizenship or ability to work in the US.
