HR Manager

About the role:

At Industrious, our people are our most important asset, full stop. As our HR Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of re-imagining what it means to be a best-in-class employer.

You’ll join a small and agile team that is focused on moving the world of HR away from administrative work and into an employee experience function. You’ll work on solving questions like: how do we lead the industry in creating an exemplary hybrid work model? How do we continue to nurture and develop our top talent into our leaders of tomorrow?

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, including our COO, whose remit includes HR Business Partnering, Learning & Development, and Employee Experience. Ideally, this role will be based in Austin, NYC, Chicago, LA, DMV, or Atlanta. We anticipate this role will require about 1 week of travel per quarter.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as the first line of contact for our field employees (entry-level to leadership) for employee relations cases and performance management coaching.
  • Acting as the Subject Matter Expert for our HR policies; have full ownership over keeping information updated and branded. You’ll be an HR resource and partner.
  • Participating or leading in key initiatives related to Learning, Talent, and Culture.
  • Maintaining a pulse on what is top of mind for employees; serving as the eyes and ears for our organization by supporting our HRBP function with our listening strategy (including, leading exit interviews and focus groups).
  • Analyzing data to make recommendations on how to improve employee experience.
  • Being a role model for the People team and a champion of our values.

About you

  • You have at least 3-5 years of progressive HR experience; a bonus if you’ve done so within fast-growing organizations
  • You have a proven track record of managing ER cases and recommending strategic plans to reduce the volume of ER cases. Discretion is the name of your game, and you manage situations with a high degree of confidentiality. You problem-solve pragmatically and with an eye for risk management.
  • You have a strong interest and/or background in DEI&B. We invest a lot of time and heart into our ERG programming and are looking for a passionate person who not only quarterbacks the efforts but takes it to the next level.
  • You work collaboratively with cross-functional partners and easily establish rapport. No problem is too small to tackle with your partners; you’re always happy to be a thought partner.
  • You can multitask like a pro and manage the needs of multiple client groups simultaneously
  • Strong analytical, process, and project management skills; able to clearly define and create deliverables. You enjoy looking at the human story within the numbers and recommending solutions to your manager.
  • You understand the importance of establishing clear policies but can see in shades of gray and come equipped with a knowledgeable and strong point of view about how things should be done from an HR perspective. You believe in building and equipping team members with a positive and collaborative HR experience. You avoid corporate gobbledygook.
  • You’re flexible and adaptable. You’re able to pivot easily and relish putting processes and policies in place. You take pride in seeing things through from start to finish. You’re a self-starter who isn't afraid to dive in but knows when to ask for help from your teammates.

Preferred

  • 2-3 years supporting a multi-unit or field population (hospitality, retail, or restaurant industry experience is a plus)
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and legislation within North America, with special attention to California and New York.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base compensation range for this role is between $100,000 and $115,000.

The successful candidate's actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and professional qualifications.

You will also be eligible for a target annual bonus of 15% of your base salary, calculated based on personal and company performance.

Financial compensation is just one component of Industrious’ total compensation package that may be available to employees.  Other great employee perks and benefits include heavily subsidized healthcare plans, generous paid time off, company stock options, wellness programs, professional development grants, 401k plan, and many other benefits, subject to applicable eligibility criteria and company policies.

If your expected compensation falls outside of the given range, and you are still interested in working at Industrious, why not join our Talent Pipeline and be kept in the loop for all new opportunities that could be a good fit for your experience.
