Job Summary
Achieves sales objectives within product range or assigned districts. Pursues sales leads, promotes products, concludes orders, and arranges internal sales logistics. May guide new sales representatives.
Responsibilities
• Sales: Responds to calls from existing customers or distributors to purchase products, resolve account problems, follows up on supply or logistics concerns. Works with sales account representatives or Sales Managers to resolve issues.
• Margin Development: Consults with Manager on setting margins when margins needed to promote a sale deviate from the guidelines. Investigates and keeps management informed of low or eroding margins when products are competitively priced.
• Written Communication: Ensures Sales Force is maintained as necessary to track the status of inquiries, quotes, bids, and all customer correspondence.
• Sales Targets: Sets goals based on prior years’ sales, discussions with sales and marketing teams, customers, and distributors. Achieves annual targets through consistent customer follow-up and resolution to distributor and/or customer problems.
• Sales Calls-Presentations: Ability to visit existing and potential customers, presents product information, quotations and proposals during various stages of the sales process.
• Proposal Development: Prepares formal written quotes for presentation to customers. Coordinates with Distribution organization and all internal department to communicate customer’s requirements during the development of inquiry responses and formal written proposals.
• Sales Goals: Develops business plans and achievable sales goals with management covering own and distributor personnel. Provides territorial feedback to director / Inside Sales manager regarding current and potential customer needs, competitive offerings, pricing strategy and programs. Qualify leads and conduct monthly business reviews.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or similar field. 4 years in a similar role with manufacturing company may be used in lieu of degree.
• 3+ years experience in inside sales, sales rep, customer service, or similar position with large manufacturing company required. Including experience managing multiple accounts and customers with consistent follow up.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications and Sales Force
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
• Onsite position with ability to work 1 day remote.
