Material Handling Design Engineer (up to 75%)

A client of Insight Global is Searching for a Controls Focused Engineer that is able to travel up to 75% (will be able to cover all expenses). You be located anywhere in the US.Day to Day;• Will be part of the sort center team.• Will be responsible for designing material handling equipment within the sort center such as conveyor belts and other machinery.• Will be given specific requirements from the facility on what they need accomplished, will be responsible for designing the solution. Can be anything from adding capacity to the site, retrofitting areas for new equipment or helping to rearrange existing equipment within the facility.• Responsible for figuring out layouts of the site and do scope of work for the project.• Will be Writing RFPs, working with vendors for site selection and working on engineering design and hand off to execution.Requirements;• Be willing and able to travel up to 75%• Project management skills• Hands on design experience in a manufacturing setting as well.• Heavily weighted towards someone with a design background. Any kind of design (automotive, warehouse systems, manufacturing) would work.• Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant years of experience (mechanical, industrial, electrical, manufacturing)• 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial designs• AutoCAD, Solidworks experience required.
