Posting Summary
Driven by leading researchers, organizers, food producers, students, movement actors and civil society leaders, UVM’s Institute for Agroecology (IFA) will be a hub for agroecology knowledge mobilization. Together we will push boundaries and co-construct impactful research, education, outreach, and action. The Office Coordinator will coordinate administrative functions within the Institute for Agroecology, including administrative support related to general operations (scheduling, space, supplies, etc.), courses (responding to inquiries and processing applications), travel (managing itineraries and other travel-related logistics for the IFA team and guests), events (outreach and coordination), and communications (website, social media, style guides, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associate’s degree with one to three years of related experience, working knowledge of software applications used to support office functions, and familiarity with internet resources required. Demonstrated program, administrative, and financial support skills. Effective problem-solving skills and initiative, organizational and communication skills. Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, independent judgment, and ability to function effectively with minimal supervision required. Strong people skills and cultural competency, including the ability to communicate and maintain good relationships with people from different cultures and backgrounds (students and stakeholders within the university and beyond.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in Agroecology and/or food systems project administration
