Instrumentation and Electrical Maintenance

They will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, testing, maintaining, calibrating and proper operation of all instrumentation, control systems and electrical support systems and equipment at the facility. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Perform the installation and maintenance of production equipment
  • Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations
  • Support PSM standards by participating in PHAs and follow up on MOCs as appropriate
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, disassemble, examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear, repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
  • Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices and verify adequacy of repairs made to machinery and equipment
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems
  • Maintain proper documentation on repairs and maintenance performed
  • Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery
  • Record parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary.
  • Fabricate / repair parts, and assemble / replace equipment as necessary
  • Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators

Education:

  • Minimum High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) or preferred an Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) in Electrical and / or Instrumentation

Experience:

  • Minimum of five to eight years’ experience of instrument and/or electrical work in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Typical 480/120V motor controls
    • Flow, Temperature and Pressure Instrumentation
    • DCS Systems, PLC’s – specifically Allen Bradley
  • Ability to use HAST devices
  • Understanding of P&IDs, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)
  • Working knowledge of SAP PM system
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Attention to detail and numbers oriented
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and the Internet
  • Team player, individual thinker
