Supervisor, Aircraft Maintenance - Chicago

Your impact:You will have the opportunity to guide the maintenance control team as they support the repair and return-to-service of the Intelsat WiFi system on customer aircraft. You will act as a conduit between maintenance control and our operations teams to ensure that work is prioritized and executed efficiently. You will also serve as a valuable resource for the maintenance controllers, ensuring they the ability to effectively accomplish daily tasks.What you will do:• Provide oversight for aircraft maintenance controllers, ensuring that all maintenance plans are executed successfully, and departmental processes are implemented.• Prioritize the daily workload for maintenance controllers to meet the needs of our airlines.• Monitor communications with our customer, which includes emails, phone calls, and meetings, and ensure that all requests for information receive an acceptable response.• Maintain a 24/7 schedule that provides adequate and balanced coverage.• Conduct regular performance reviews for direct reports and provide constructive feedback that promotes growth and development.• Accomplish projects and assignments as needed, which are sometimes broad in nature, and occasionally require engagement with cross functional teams.Your required experience skills:• Four-year degree in aviation related field or equivalent work experience• Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate• Avionics maintenance experience• Aircraft operations and maintenance planning experience• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required• This role is subject to ITAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).Your success in this role will look like:• Lead with confidence and set an example for others• Incorporate speed into decision making when information is lacking, or time is short.• Ensure team effectively anticipates and addresses customer needs• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsIt would be nice if you had:• Previous experience in aircraft maintenance supervisory role• Boeing and Airbus aircraft maintenance experience• Experience with online aircraft maintenance manuals and parts catalogs• Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) governing aircraft maintenanceHow we support you:• Hybrid environment offering up to two days per week work from home (for eligible positions)• Development opportunities supporting professional growth championed by our dedicated Learning & Development team. 20-25% of our positions are hired internally!• Ways to get involved: satellite launch parties, company connect events, charitable activities, team social events, recognition programs, and employee resource groups.• Wide range of benefits and perks to help you stay healthy, happy, and productive.
