Clinical Biostatistics is seeking a temporary intern statistical research associate to support clinical research studies, primarily within the hematopoietic cell transplant field. Supported by senior statistical and programming staff, the successful candidate will work independently with clinical researchers in all aspects of clinical studies, both prospective and retrospective.
Responsibilities:
  • Retrieval and assembly of data from the Division’s central database and other sources
  • Design of clinical studies
  • Statistical analysis of data, and reporting of results.
  • Validation on source code, result comparison between different methods via simulation
  • Add/update features on R Shiny website
  • Manuscript preparation for publication.
Qualifications:
  • Current graduate student in statistics, biostatistics or related field
  • Basic statistical knowledge, e.g. survival analysis, high dimensional data analysis
  • Familiarity with R, preferably with R Shiny background; strong programming skills required
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as ability to juggle multiple projects required.
  • Must be able to clearly convey complicated statistical concepts to non-quantitative scientists.
  • Strong writing skills required.
  • Must be able to work independently and with a diverse group of people.
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine requirement, with exceptions only for approved medical or religious accommodations. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees must, prior to their first day of employment:

The hourly pay range for this position is from $18.75 to $24.71, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
