Intern, DoD Skillbridge Program

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The FSO will adhere to all requirements as stated in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (32 CFR Part 117, DoD 5220.22-M), SRC Policies and Security Standards, Practices and Procedures
  • The FSO administers the SRC Security Program, to include physical security requirements such as safes, access controls, intrusion detection systems, cameras, incident response, reporting, and insider threat program requirements
  • FSO handles are personnel security requirements utilizing DISS, NISS, SWFT, SIMS, and assist other SRC sites as required. FSO performs personnel clearance actions related to initiating personnel clearances, visit requests, compile and process SCI nominations packages, conduct collateral security clearance indoctrination of personnel, access & picture badging, conducting initial and refresher briefings, fingerprinting, and data entry into applicable databases
  • The FSO conducts Document Control and Accountability, to include Closed Area management and Safeguarding practices
  • The FSO reports security issues to the Security Manager and the Insider Threat Program Senior Official as applicable. Prepare reports and conduct investigations as required
  • Implements local security procedures and processes as necessary; assist with security education, insider threat awareness, and training activities for facility management, personnel, and others, as appropriate
  • Conduct and provide support for Staff Assistance Visits enhancing security program efficiency, NISPOM Compliance and preparation towards recurring DCSA Vulnerability Assessments
  • Serves as an Insider Threat Security Officer; an integral member of the Threat Working Group responsible for monitoring and reporting insider threat items
  • Identifies and documents unique local threats & vulnerabilities; makes recommendation to risk management status and reports threat indicators related to Insider Threat process
  • Ensures periodic self-inspections of the security program are conducted and that corrective action is taken for all identified findings and vulnerabilities
  • FSO will act as a back up to the ISSM in performing continuous monitoring of classified information systems as needed
Requirements:

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • US Citizenship AND a current SECRET security clearance eligibility with ability to obtain/maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance
  • Minimum two-year degree and two or more years' work related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be willing to complete FSO certification training through CDSE
  • Experience with or have worked as one or more of the following:
    • Gov't Security Specialist, military experience with personnel clearance processes, administered/managed safes, handling of classified information, physical security such as safes, access controls, alarms, and associated documentation
    • Military Security Managers, physical security specialists, personnel security administrative specialists, and special access program or Special Security Representative
DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 3 years' Dept of Defense/military or Industrial Security Program / FSO experience
  • Experience with COMSEC Management
  • Experience with Restricted Areas and/or Closed Area buildouts
  • Experience with processing actions related to CAC cards and SCI nominations
  • Experience with DD254 process; excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with SIMS, access control systems, intrusion detection's systems, cameras, fingerprint systems, picture badge systems, etc.
  • Experience as a system administrator on information systems

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET ELIGIBILITY
