Job Description:
We are excited to offer an Internship program for a candidate who is pursuing either undergraduate or graduate course studies in computing and augmented intelligence or a closely related discipline and is excited to use data to tell a story and influence the direction of business decisions by effectively communicating findings to cross-functional groups. Our internship position will gain exposure to creating technical specifications and designing and developing programmed solutions in support of Finance, Operations, and Product Line BUs. Candidates should be looking to enhance their (1) ability to deliver dynamic and rich dashboards, (2) show results in easy-to-understand visualizations, (3) interact with business partners to understand their goals and objectives, (4) Build world-wide reporting solutions from multiple data structures and sources, (5) work autonomously and make critical decisions independently.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
  • Interact with the functional team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of functional requirements, clarify user expectations, and identify opportunities to implement improvements.
  • Create technical specifications and design. Develop and unit test applications according to specifications.
  • Participate in work sessions with functional teams.
  • Participate in resolving urgent incidents. Participate in action to determine root cause of problems and drive resolution.
  • Ability to lead discussions with all levels of the organization and provide balanced information of an idea or communication of an issue regardless of written or verbal.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Working towards Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in quantitative field preferably computer science or engineering, statistics/data science, and/or mathematics
  • Possess in-depth knowledge and experience with relational database management systems, especially SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle and big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Redshift, etc.). Strong data mining experience preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools like Tableau, Google Analytics, or other programs
  • Experience with ETL processes, data warehouses, and business intelligence platforms beneficial
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques, including tend analysis, forecasting, and experimental design.
  • Experience with developing reports and dashboards for displaying complex data sets and algorithms in a user-friendly way.
