Overview:

The mission of the Community Affairs Office is to provide greater access to AltaMed’s wide breadth of services consistently by increasing connectivity with community-based organizations and maximizing brand awareness in the communities we serve.

We aim to increase awareness and access to AltaMed’ services by positioning AltaMed as a trusted community health and human resource in the communities we serve in Los Angeles and Orange counties.

Responsibilities:

Gather information and key data to support Community Affairs projects.
Coordinate internal departments in AltaMed to participate in projects or community events.
Provide information to the communities we touch at events and through workshops on health topics at different locations.
Work on the development of informational literacy and collateral on specific topics that are in alignment with this year’s strategy.
Provide feedback and propose activities to provide more efficient ways to educate the communities we serve on topics that are relevant to accomplish our mission.
Use the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system to enter, track, and analyze data.

Qualifications:

Detailed oriented
Resourceful
Strong organization skills
Interest in focusing career in communications, community relations or community engagement
Outgoing personality. Candidate needs to feel comfortable approaching people from different backgrounds, ethnicity, etc.

-Bilingual- able to speak, read and write in Spanish

Strong project coordination skills
Be available to intern 30 hours per week
Reliable transportation as this role is hybrid
