This is a full-time internship position for a Fall Rotation, expected to start around September 18, 2023 through March 15, 2024 in Mountain View, CA.
The BMW Technology Office in Mountain View is offering an exciting internship on the Digital Life Innovations team. You will work on a team of talented engineers with expertise in software engineering, electrical engineering, data engineering, sensors, vehicle integration, connectivity and machine learning. The internship is oriented towards prototype development of new connectivity hardware in the car with possible interaction with local Bay Area tech companies. Your task will involve conceptualizing and building up a proof-of-concept vehicle component dedicated to in-vehicle wireless services.
Note: This is a full-time 6 month internship. Interested applicants should explore options with their faculty advisors / department to take time off from their studies prior to applying for the position.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
- Have completed at least 30 college credit hours at time of application (year 3 or 4)
- Field of study: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related
- Experience in the field of RF/Wireless technologies (Bluetooth / Wi-Fi preferred)
- Experience with antenna design and antenna measurements
- Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international students only)
- Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript
- Strong computer science fundamentals
- Interest in the field of automotive
- Willingness to work on an international team
- Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week) for 5-6 months
- Excellent time-management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Self-motivated, adaptable to a dynamic environment
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical capabilities
Preferences
- Experience with networking technologies and standards
- Experience in the automotive industry
- Experience with Linux system
- Languages: English (fluent, oral and written)
