This position can be located in either Chicago, IL., Moline, IL., or Des Moines, IA.

Your Responsibilities


As an Internal Audit Advisor for John Deere World Headquarters located in Moline, IL, you will:

  • Perform risk-based audits and advisory reviews under the direction of Audit Leadership.
  • Audit planning, execution, and delivering insightful feedback to management that highlights process gaps, control deficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with leadership and the Enterprise Risk Management team to help Deere and Company accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
  • Plan and scope risk-based audits and advisory reviews in collaboration with management and the audit team; identify key risks and associated controls as part of the walkthrough and testing process
  • Conduct testing and identify deficiencies for further investigation ensuring deliverables are completed according to the established schedule and required standards
  • Assist in report preparation and formulation of recommendations designed to improve controls and/or methods of operation
  • Assist in the presentation of audit findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans to Management
  • Build detailed knowledge of processes and systems across the organization
  • Act as a champion for internal control and risk concepts throughout the organization
  • Undertake other ad hoc, project, and investigation work as required

What Skills You Need

  • 5 or more years of total experience in accounting, finance, audit, risk, compliance, or a related field
  • 1 or more years of audit, consulting, or advisory experience
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize, summarize and communicate important data
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively drive collaboration
  • Results-oriented with the ability to motivate and influence diverse teams
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 3 or more years of internal audit experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA)
  • Master’s Degree in business, accounting, or related discipline

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, information systems, or related discipline
