Pharmacy Tech (REMOTE)

This is a fully remote position, open to candidates based in California only.

The role requires effective communication with MD offices and pharmacies to obtain the necessary information and ensure smooth processing of prior authorization requests.

Job Duties

• Process Prior Authorization Requests: The primary responsibility is to work on and complete prior authorization requests received via fax or ePA (Electronic Prior Authorization). The focus is on processing these requests efficiently and accurately.
• Outbound Calls: The job involves making outbound calls to MD offices and/or pharmacies. These calls are intended to gather additional information required to make informed decisions on the prior authorization cases.
• Review and Approval: The candidate will be responsible for reviewing prior authorization requests and determining whether they should be approved or potentially denied. The decisions made will be specific to the pharmacy line of business for commercial plans only.
• Member Advocacy: The job may involve advocating for members' interests by making calls to help get a paid claim or resolve issues related to prior authorizations.

Qualifications:

• At least 1-year experience in pharmacy setting
• Active pharmacy technician license
• Ability to work 8AM-5PM PST, remotely.
