Internal Controls Analyst

About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for an Internal Controls Analyst to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role is responsible for the Company’s internal controls implementation and review at WEG entities in the United States based on WEG Internal Controls Policy; prepare, implement, review and approve the walkthrough, narratives, flowcharts and test of design (ToD) of control from business processes; support internal and external audits related to Internal Controls; prepare proposals of internal controls to the management; follow and obey management guidelines from HQs and Corporate Governance in order to support its implementation locally.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain the Internal Controls Policy and methodology at the local WEG Entities.
  • Contribute to the diagnosis of the company's current Corporate Governance structure in comparison with the requirement of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act as established by HQ.
  • Assist to the assessment of Corporate Controls (Entity Level Controls) and General Controls of Information Technology.
  • Prepare, review and approve risks and controls described in the company’s Risks and Controls Matrix.
  • Perform and provide support in carrying out the walkthrough procedure with the Business Areas.
  • Perform and provide support in the tests of adherence of internal controls;
  • Prepare the Recommendation Report to the Business Areas.
  • Give support for the others U.S. WEG operation as per Internal Controls perspective.
  • Support internal and external audits related to Internal Controls.
  • Manage, review and approve corrective action plans to mitigate risks within the involved areas.
  • Monitor the news related to the SOX act, COSO, PCAOB and local rules and guidelines related to it.
  • Prepare proposals of new laws, standards and regulations to be presented to the management and committees.
  • Interact between headquarters and subsidiaries.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Accounting/Finance/Business Degree or related field (Economics, Law or
    Business Administration) or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge / training:

  • Demonstrated track record of understanding how internal control issues affect organizations and providing pragmatic business solutions.
  • Enthusiastic and informed change agent, with a high aptitude to adapt/adjust the present process to the ones that will be necessary to be under compliance in our different businesses in the U.S.
  • Strong negotiating skills and interpersonal relationship.
  • Detail-orientation and ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously with thoroughness under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Customer focus.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively to create and sustain lasting relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Competency with Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of COSO and Sarbanes-Oxley (Section 302 and 404) will be a plus.
  • Experience in SAP systems (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish is helpful.
  • Emotional balance in the face of adverse situations.
  • Conflict Management.
  • Proactivity and Organization.

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in internal or external audit or internal controls.
