SUMMARY: The International Processing Coordinator is the designated point of contact for freight moves involving the global import and export of goods. This role oversees shipments to ensure goods move on schedule; holds freight forwarding providers to on time delivery; and assures all international shipping documentation is complete, meeting legal requirements and enabling goods to move internationally.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of the International Processing Coordinator include the following job duties. The responsibilities are not limited to these tasks.

  • Coordinate international shipments from all ESCO origins to internal and external customers.
  • Create import and export documents for international shipments.
  • Work with corporate team to understand and follow Ingersoll Rand’s international shipping process.
  • Assist other sites with export related issues.
  • Audit invoices for accuracy and regulations.
  • Manage freight forwarders to ensure timely movement of freight.
  • Ensure accurate documentation for letter of credit collections.
  • Ensure timely flow of goods imported and exported, and work to alleviate disruptions when they occur.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with freight forwarding providers.
  • Organize invoices efficiently for easy access.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; (secondary education is a plus).
  • Must have experience working with international sales orders, creating import and export documents for international shipping or receiving; proficiency with INCO terms required.
  • Previous experience working for (or closely with) a customs broker or freight forwarder is required.
  • Experience working in domestic transportation and familiarity with related industry terms and processes preferred.
  • Previous experience working with an ERP required; Oracle experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English, correspondence, and memos, such as supervisory instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders.
  • Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized.

  • The employee must regularly lift parts and sub-assembled units up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move for a distance of ten feet or less completed product that weigh up to 50 pounds, depending on the type of product.
  • The employee may be required to lift more than 35 pounds and must get assistance by using a material handling device or get assistance from other employees.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, to machining oils/coolants from handling coated tools and containers, and to coolant/oil mists which are below OSHA’s permissible levels of exposure.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places when using a ladder or operating the man-lifts.
  • Since it is a manufacturing environment, the noise level is usually loud due to the different machinery being operated (i.e., forklifts, hand tools, machines in other departments) and the testing that occurs. Normal noise exposure in the area ranges from 80-90 d BA, depending upon what area in the plant the employee is working.
