Location & Team Gatherings

As a fully remote team, we prioritize building strong connections and a collaborative culture.To strengthen bonds beyond our daily virtual interactions, we host company-wide Team Weeks four times a year, bringing everyone together in person.To further enhance our team spirit, we’re also establishing regional hubs in key cities—Houston, TX; Denver, CO; NYC Metro Area; the Bay Area & San Diego, CA; Calgary and Toronto, Canada.  These hubs offer optional opportunities for informal gatherings and team-building, allowing colleagues to meet, collaborate, and connect in relaxed, in-person settings .

About This Position

Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, the role will be responsible for supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, the audit process, and the GL accounting team as needed. This position will also focus on the operational asset phase of the base portfolio including investigating budget to actuals variance drivers, complex accounting topics such as HLBV, and the calculation of partnership distributions. This position will also be involved with the accounting for the construction phase of the core and expansion portfolios as those activities ramp up and provide capacity for IPO prep.


Responsibilities and Duties
  • In this role you will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for projects in development and operations  as well as for upper tier consolidating entities
  • Investigate budget to actual variance, perform analysis and report on results to management 
  • Participate in the audit process, including gathering and explaining support to external auditors, drafting footnotes, and tie outs 
  • As we continue to grow, this role will weigh in on process improvements and help roll out and enforce those processes and internal controls for our expanding team  
  • Work cross functionally across the organization especially,  Asset Management, Construction, Development and FP&A teams


Qualifications and Skills
  • 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong grasp of basic and intermediate accounting principles 
  • Mid-level experience with Excel (SumIF, Pivot tables, and V-lookup) 
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with clients, agencies and vendors
  • Capability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment 
  • Willingness to wear multiple hats and take ownership of full financial reporting requirements 
  • Experience with or knowledge of Sage Intacct is a plus Experience with renewable accounting and public company reporting is highly desired

  • Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone. 
  • Position requires some travel for company-wide meetups: ~5 weeks total through a calendar year.

  • Salary: $80,000 - $95,000USD base salary with 20-25% annual target bonus
