Location & Team Gatherings

Intersect has been a fully flexible workplace since its founding in 2016.  We’ve been very intentional about the way we do things. About This Position

Reporting to the Manager of Strategy and Business Development, the Intern, Strategy and Business Development will be responsible for helping evaluate market expansion opportunities, support techno-economic modeling, and create cross functional tools for evaluating the viability of co-locating renewables and large industrial loads across various markets. This position requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to identify project opportunities for data centers.


Responsibilities and Duties
  • Research industrial electric loads and/or clean energy technologies, and assess their techno-economic fit with Intersect Power’s co-location strategy
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess economic viability of new concepts with Intersect Power’s business model
  • Develop custom tools that will enable Intersect Power to comprehensively and efficiently assess new opportunities
  • Create and present market assessment reports summarizing potential opportunities for Intersect Power to develop co-located energy projects
  • Support day to day ad hoc analysis and work streams


Qualifications and Skills
  • Currently enrolled in a 4-Year Bachelor’s Degree program Postgraduate degree
  • Prior experience or clearly demonstrated interest in wholesale energy markets, renewable energy, cleantech, and/or industrial electrification 
  • Analytical skills - Revealed through engineering, math, computer science, or data-driven social science experience
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship management skills

  • Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone.

Compensation
  • $20 USD per hour for undergrad students and $45 USD per hour for graduate students. If working in Canada: conversion rate to CAD run at time-of-hire.

Location 
  • Remote in Canada or US. Applicant must be authorized to work in Canada or US. Intersect Power is unable to sponsor visas for this position.
