Summary:
The Inventory Specialist is an on-site member of the Logistics Team in a territory sales office(s), responsible for managing and implementing company inventory/instrument policies and procedures for territory and/or area level. This includes managing inventory/instrument investments to ensure high utilization as well as maintaining accurate records of product placements. A solid understanding of company products, operating systems and procedures is critical.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure all product recall activity is performed immediately to ensure compliance to all required.

Coordinate with Quality and Regulatory to ensure verify and ensure all compliance procedures are followed.

Ensure consignment locations have valid consignment agreements and/or custody cards and Perform Field Cycle Counts as needed.

Coordinate and participate in territory physical inventories ensure all preparation guidelines are performed, conduct counts, and perform required physical inventory reconciliation.

Ensure minimal location/account variances and ensure adjustments (positive/negative) meet established company variance percentages and dollar amounts.

Perform field location/account visits/reviews to ensure consigned inventory instruments and implants are verified with account and ensure after reviews that instrument sets and implant inventory levels are accurate and adjusted accordingly.

Reconciliation variances should be addressed with the appropriate sales representative(s) and management.

Perform IAP validations semi-annually and ensure all required adjustments are performed to maintain accurate IAP records.

Analyze inventory asset levels to improve utilization and to provide improved sales performance providing recommendations and implementing appropriate strategies.

Perform Instrument and implant utilization analysis to find opportunities, inventory efficiencies with sales management and sales force.

Ensure compliance of company asset utilization goals and objectives.

Partner with the sales management team, sales force and logistics management to ensure excellent sales support.

Perform period, quarterly and annual product reporting to provide guidance for set and inventory deployments.

Perform analysis/reporting affecting all P&L related territory and/or area operations (i.e. Stock Withdrawal budget, freight analysis, courier usage, etc.).

Determine and ensure the least cost method of providing product to customer is performed. This includes MOSC, Courier and freight utilization is being supervised and reviewed each period.

Perform OSC system reviews with OSC Specialist to ensure excellent sales product support for surgeries and assess OSC Kit utilization to ensure maximum utilization.

Track and report Memphis, West Coast and Regional Loaner usage to assess additional requirements. Additionally, perform same for District/Sales Office to ensure quality utilization assessments are performed.

Ensure and maintain compliance to all Smith & Nephew Logistical requirements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and in compliance.

Use the established IS Checklist for daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly required activities and duties. Always maintain Operational Audit readiness.

Perform sales order maintenance functions working with Order Management Specialist to ensure open orders are cleared and processed.

Provide and assist in the training of new logistics personnel and sales representatives. Additionally, provide and assist in the training of new operational and logistics SOP and processes.
Education/Experience
-
A Bachelor’s degree in a related Business field or equivalent experience, an MBA is preferred, e.g., technical or managerial.

Orthopedic Product knowledge is a tremendous plus

A minimum of 4 years' experience in a related field, e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business Analyst, Business Consultant

Microsoft Office Suite Applications and Analysis Skills
Other:
The position manages and is responsible for field inventory assets for the district/area (as the need arises). Performs asset reviews and recommends asset movements to provide sales support and increased utilization. Position requires self-reliance and confidence for broad empowerment as directed by Management. Supports Sales Revenue of 10-15M/Assets 2-5M.
