Our Trading desk is looking to hire an Analyst to focus on trading within Capital Markets. The dynamic nature of the trading floor is one where you can apply your analytical skills and passion for the markets. You will also strive towards continuous improvement of trading techniques by maintaining familiarity with the applicable technology and market structure evolution.

The Analyst will work closely with a highly collaborative group of traders each with their own diverse skillsets and product knowledge.

Our Global Trading team provides Ontario Teachers' with trading capabilities, available to all asset groups and regions, with a focus on minimizing costs while continually improving the trading process.
What you'll do
Trade multiple products across many asset classes (including Credit, Rates, Equities, FX, Commodities, and all of their respective Derivatives, as well as Repo and Money Markets).
Collaborate with Portfolio Managers throughout the investment process
Build and maintain relationships with trading counterparties
Work to improve the processes and technologies surrounding the trade lifecycle
Assist in analyzing the costs and risks associated with trading and look to reduce them for the Fund
Stay ahead of the newly-emerging systems and execution venues and make recommendations
Build close working relationships with Operations, IT, Legal/Compliance and risk staff to ensure appropriate resolution of any issues
Help champion a ‘best execution culture’ within the centralized trading model
What you'll need
Undergraduate/post-graduate degree in a related technical discipline (e.g. economics, business, engineering, computer science) finance or business administration
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience at an investment bank, asset manager, or hedge fund
A passion for technology, data analytics and markets
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, familiarity with Bloomberg and programming an asset
Highly self-motivated individual - naturally inquisitive self-starter with a desire to learn
