Regional Sales Manager

Energy storage is the most exciting area in energy today. Massive amounts of energy storage are required if renewable energy is to take its rightful place on the electric grid. Invinity provides an alternative to the most common type of battery, lithium-ion because the battery technology that works so well in our pockets doesn’t work as well at the grid scale; it wears out, limits use, and even catches fire. 


Manufactured as a standardized product in a factory, Invinity’s vanadium flow batteries don’t degrade, won’t catch fire, and can be operated continuously from full charge to full discharge for 25 years. Invinity has 75,000 kilowatt-hours of its modular battery systems in 82 projects across 15 countries - more than any other company in the space. We’ve deployed the largest flow battery systems in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UK, and are supported by the UK Infrastructure Bank, the U.S. Department of Energy, and some of the world’s leading institutional investors.

Our Commercial team is growing and we are looking for a Regional Sales Manager to drive our North American sales activities. In this role reporting to the VP of Sales, you will identify new business opportunities, manage customer relationships, and expand market share in your assigned region. You will play a key role in promoting our energy storage solutions to commercial, industrial, and utility customers, contributing to the growth of the business and the transition to sustainable energy.


Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve regional revenue and growth targets.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, distributors, and strategic partners.
  • Sales Execution: Conduct product presentations, negotiate contracts, and successfully close sales opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and product teams to design tailored sales campaigns and product offerings that align with market needs.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare detailed sales reports, forecasts, and market analyses to inform senior management and support strategic decision-making.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry events and conferences to expand professional networks and promote the organization’s solutions.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required; an engineering background and/or MBA is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven success in sales, particularly in energy solutions, technology products, or related industries.
  • Understanding of energy markets is considered a strong asset.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced negotiation and influencing capabilities, with a track record of driving results and overcoming challenges.
  • Have or be willing to obtain a valid Canadian passport.

This is a hybrid remote role with the expectation to be in the office 2-3 days a week.
