Job Title: Quality Assurance Officer (Verification and Assessment Officer)

Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 pa (dependant on experience)

Hours per week: 35 (flexible working options available)

You’ll be required to work from our head office in Wigston, Leicester a minimum of 2 days per week. The remainder of your working hours will be undertaken from home.

About the role

Here at IOSH we pride ourselves in promoting excellence in occupational health and safety. We offer a wide range of training programmes delivered by our approved training providers and it is vital that they meet our exacting standards.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Quality Assurance Officer. You will be responsible for assessment and quality assurance of our training providers, and the training they deliver, in accordance with established criteria and national standards.

Reporting to the Quality and Standards Business Partner, you will be assessing our IOSH direct delivery courses, undertaking specific quality checks, and providing constructive feedback, in the form of written reports, but on occasion, verbally to aid understanding.

This is a key role at IOSH and the opportunity to really shape the delivery of our services to our end users as well as enhancing and improving our Quality Framework.

What you'll bring

We are looking for someone with attention to detail, a passion for ensuring standards are adhered to and who can work independently and as part of a team. The individual needs to be able to listen to others, support colleagues and customers to ensure we offer excellent customer service. The individual needs to be able to confidently give and receive feedback.

Candidates must hold either a Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment and/or Level 3 qualification in Education and Training or Equivalent.

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge and experience of assessment, training and auditing principles
  • To have pragmatic & solution focussed problem-solving skills to find innovative solutions where appropriate and the courage and ability to challenge practices where necessary by alerting your manager.
  • Able to work collaboratively and build relationships with stakeholders and staff.
  • Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment or Equivalent or Level 3 qualification in Education and Training or Equivalent
  • Level 3 Health and Safety Qualification or Equivalent
