Our Digital and IT teams are innovating how we understand our patients and their needs. Working cross-functionally, we are inventing new ways of communicating, measuring and interacting with our customers and patients through digital channels and technologies.

The Senior Specialist Human Health (HH) IT Internal Communication is a member of the HH IT Operations Team. The HH IT Operations Team focuses on enabling internal capabilities to enhance and strengthen key components of the HH IT organization and also enable new organizational capabilities.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for shaping internal communication and marketing strategies for the IT organization and within and across the various internal functions. In this role, you will work closely with a network of colleagues to activate integrated communications and marketing strategies and help tell the authentic story of the division or functional area. You will be an active partner within the HH IT organization, helping elevate and communicate programs and initiatives focused on making our Company IT a place where people love to come to work and are enabled and inspired to do their best. You will work with people at every level to develop internal communication plans and materials that engage and educate our diverse employee population and support a culture of transformation.

The candidate must have a passion for creative storytelling and also have experience in driving initiatives within complex, matrix organizations with a specific focus on employee engagement. This position requires a strategic communicator with a generalist background and experience in various communication disciplines to support divisional-level communication needs. This role should be willing to test new communication channels and have the technical knowledge to post content and images on a variety of digital, internal platforms.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal Communication

  • Develop and implement integrated communications and marketing strategies that bring the IT priorities and narrative to life, further strengthening and elevating a shared vision across the IT organization, providing the right information, to the right stakeholders, at the right time.

  • Serve as a strategic content developer/content manager who shapes and drives communications opportunities and synergies related to high-profile priorities and activities and works to communicate to appropriate stakeholder groups.

  • Contribute to marketing communications programming for key moments to help tell the authentic story of the division or functional area.

  • Partner with key stakeholders across the IT organization and relevant sub-divisions to understand the value of our products and solutions and communicate them to key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Research and develop stories in support of optimizing our operating model, transforming our workforce and other IT strategic initiatives.

  • Ensure communications are compelling and aligned with our desired voice and tone. Counsel and support business functions and senior leaders on their internal communication needs.

  • Use metrics to define and assess the effectiveness of communication.

  • Leverage internal communication tools with strong focus on diversity of content, the target audience and the specific formats of the tools.

  • Develop assets in compliance with our Company brand standards.

  • Maintain editorial calendar across all communications activities.

Engagement & Event Management

  • Ensure cohesive, omni-channel storytelling through on-brand creative, informative, and engaging content, including journalistic outcome-focused success stories focused on the business, strategic programs and senior leadership.

  • Support divisional leadership on key internal communication, marketing, and engagement activities.

  • Provide event support to the HH IT Communications Lead (e.g., Town Halls, webcast forums, internal and external speaking engagements), including developing content and copy, coordinating event logistics, hosting live events and providing overall event support.

  • Help identify opportunities to connect employees within the IT organization and develop key messages and communication material to support those programs.

Social Media

  • Ensure we are elevating stories that position HH IT as an impactful presence on social media.

  • Proactively collaborate with HH IT teams and to create engaging visual content to present the division, the teams, projects and individuals with a strong employer branding and recruitment focus.

  • Support an individual leadership social media strategy focused on building the personal as well as the company brand. Ensure the communications are interconnected and aligned.

    • Ghost write weekly Yammer posts for HH IT Vice President

    • Ghost write weekly LinkedIn posts for HH IT Vice President, including regularly monitoring the LinkedIn feed for reshare opportunities

Creative Design

  • Design and develop visually appealing SharePoint pages.

  • Design and develop timely and compelling executive-level presentations in response to HH IT VP requests.

  • Design and develop videos in support of town halls, success stories, etc.

BASIC SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism, or a related discipline is required.

  • 5+ years of experience in communication, journalism, or social media.

  • 2+ years of experience in technology communications and marketing.

  • 2+ years of experience developing communication and marketing campaigns requiring visuals, graphics, and multimedia using a variety of digital platforms.

  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, collaborative, deadline-oriented environment.

  • Brilliant writing and storytelling skills, capable of capturing the authentic voice in written communication.

  • Able to quickly grasp information and develop clear communication with minimal guidance.

  • Portfolio of work demonstrating the ability to tell complex stories in relatable terms.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Passion and experience with technology and digital.

  • Outstanding attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated individual requiring minimal direction.

  • Experience with visual storytelling, video production, social media.

  • Team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

  • Able to work with all levels of employees, including senior leaders.

  • Able to exercise high judgment and deliver results, particularly in narrow timeframes.

  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Studio.
