JOB SUMMARY:
This position supports the needs of IT Security Managers, and as a part of a cross-functional team will participate in the implementation and administration of security activities and solutions of low to medium complexity.
JOB DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Model ethical behavior and execute job responsibilities in accordance with Citizen’s core values, ethics, and information protection policies.
Daily Operational Activities: Participates in core security team activities, such as:
- Incident handling,
- Ticket triage and response,
- Vulnerability scanning and remediation.
Security Project Work: Participate in the:
- Evaluation, development and implementation of security controls and tools, including expanding the scope of use,
- Vulnerability assessments,
- Perform system administration for all security tools.
Relationship Management:
- Consult with and advise strategic partners on assigned projects to help ensure secure solutions and services are procured, developed, implemented, and maintained.
Governance:
- Develop, modify, and present security awareness program materials to enable Citizen’s workforce, vendors, and customers to adopt Information Security policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
Innovate and educate:
- Educate and train staff on information system security best practices. Participates in remediation planning processes by meeting with key stakeholders and managers to develop appropriate response action plans.
Development & Enhancements:
- Actively educate self on new and emerging threats and techniques that effect Citizens and the world at large. Develops or proposes new, enhanced, or unique solutions for emerging threats and vulnerability risks.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma / GED
- Bachelor’s Degree WITH Concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology or related program. OR 4 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education WITH Concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology or related program. and relevant experience equivalent to 4 years.
- Other Certifications | Licenses Required: Technology or Security related Certification (e.g., Network+, MCP, Security+, CCNA, etc.) preferred, but not required. Commit to obtain appropriate level Information Security certification within first year of employment.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
- 0-1 years professional experience in IT Security, Infrastructure, Operations OR Support organizations.
- Associate/Technical Degree OR 2 years relevant experience, OR a combination of both college and experience equivalent to 2 years.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of IT Security theory/practices
- Basic Knowledge of IT theory/practices
- Basic Knowledge of Incident Handling
- Basic Knowledge of IT Security frameworks such as NIST, CIS Critical Security Controls
- Basic Knowledge of IT Infrastructure/ architecture/ roles and responsibilities
TECHNICAL SKILLS / OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work independently.
- Conceptualize requirements into comprehensible models.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to use tools and techniques to gather data.
- Proficiency in MS Office and query reporting.
- Business presentation skills.
- Time management skills
