Location: Remote Canada

Reports To: Director, Product Planning & Marketing

The Role: 

Product Manager will work closely with the sales team, clients, and internal client support roles to elicit, analyze, and validate customer feedback and translate into product requirements (Epics, User Stories, and tasks). The PM will be responsible for gaining and maintaining a thorough understanding of product offerings and providing best practices and knowledge to support the maintenance, design, development and implementation of our products or product enhancements. 

The Product Manager will apply proven communication, analytical, problem-solving and facilitation skills to help support the product development and sustain process and ensure that product deliverables are met according to the vision, strategy, scope and prioritization as set by the Product Portfolio Director.  In an effort to achieve corporate vision and revenue goals, the Product Manager will work collectively with the Product Portfolio & Technology Director and Technology Manager allocated teams to ensure product delivery in a timely and quality manner. 

 

The Impact You Will Have in This Role: 

Through acquired Subject Matter Expertise and proven product ownership, with a keen analytical focus, this role is essential to collaborating and establishing our product roadmap helping to drive innovation, revenue and customer satisfaction as we release our products into the marketplace.   

What You'll Be Doing in This Role: 

  • Collaborate with the Product Portfolio Director and product sponsors to clarify/refine scope, vision, strategy and priorities that are most likely to deliver the greatest results to the business and the best solutions to customers
  • Build and maintain relationships with the internal product team and supporting departments, as well as external customers
  • Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products
  • Partner with UX and Design leads to determine best user experience and design
  • Conduct interviews and product analysis with internal and external Stakeholders to understand and assemble quality user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, site visits, workflows, user stories, scenarios, UX designs/testing, and other hypothesis testing, etc.
  • Conduct, create and provide product briefs, market analysis, competitor analysis, trend analysis, financial analysis (pricing, revenue & cost), success metric analysis, and customer metrics to stakeholders, as requested
  • Develop clearly defined product requirements and translate into Epics, User Stories, and tasks
  • Manage the refinement of the product backlogs for enhancement opportunities and incident management, with modified Agile approach, as needed
  • Maintain product collateral and artifacts for all products within the portfolio, ensuring they are up to date and posted for team access
  • Develops an in-depth knowledge of the market landscape
  • Work with internal departments to gather and present product financials, roadmap updates and other product analysis
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure product readiness through pre-launch and launch (including releases for iterative product development)  
  • Collaborate with Product Planning and Marketing team to support product launches, including all marketing collateral or campaigns

 

Qualifications of this Role: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable experience in product management preferred, supporting product creation and growth efforts
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification and various Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • Hands-on experience interacting with key decision makers and stakeholders both internally and at the client-level
  • Prior automotive industry experience is preferred
  • Prior experience in automotive finance and retail or payment applications is a plus
  • Prior experience in automotive incentives strategy is a plus
  • Experience in an Information Technology environment preferred
  • Understanding of Agile Product Development Methodology; experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent active listening, interviewing, verbal and written communication, documentation/writing, and diplomacy skills
  • Experience with cross-functional teams that include engineering, sales, and marketing, plus demonstrated effectiveness in interacting and communicating with executive management
  • Proven experience driving numerous parallel initiatives
  • Having managed products and feature areas through an entire software development lifecycle is preferred
  • Good understanding of PC skills and hands-on experience creating diagrams and presentations using the Microsoft suite of products, including Microsoft Teams
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently in an ambiguous and highly dynamic environment
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, re-prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
