Production Coordinator (VFX)

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive VFX Production Coordinator to join our dynamic production team, based out of our up and coming studio in Toronto.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations of VFX projects, ensuring smooth communication between artists, supervisors, and clients. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for VFX, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists the Production Supervisor in all evolving support needs (including duties such as calendar booking, updating schedules and documents, timecard processing, etc) 
  • Assists Production Supervisor with maintaining quotas, deadlines & inventory, ensuring departmental productivity goals are consistently met 
  • Understands the department and works with the Supervisor to maintain the department schedule 
  • Ensures workflow from one department to the next is as seamless as possible. 
  • Escalates to the Production Supervisor of any issues or risks that might impact the schedule. 
  • Checks in with artists daily to ensure they are on track with their tasks and helps remove blockers and issues that impact the schedule. 
  • Coordinates crew meetings 
  • Preps for reviews by building the agenda, liaising with the PA to ensure attendees are invited and room set up is in place ready for a smooth meeting. 
  • Building / running playlists for reviews. 
  • Follows up on action items from meetings. 
  • Understands the pipeline and has a sensibility to understand the impact of issues within the team that can impact further down the pipeline and communicate with the wider production teams.  
  • Attends production meetings and provides department updates as needed. 
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a production role within the VFX, animation, or film industry.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in production tracking software (ShotGrid,etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Team Player: A collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem Solver: Ability to anticipate potential issues and proactively address them.
  • Passion: A genuine interest in VFX
