The CFO will be instrumental in crafting the company’s financial strategy, maintaining financial stability, and driving growth initiatives.Key Responsibilities• Develop and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s long-term objectives.• Lead the preparation of financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and analytical assessments.• Review and recommend adjustments to project mark-up strategies, contract risk and cash flow assessments, operational efficiency, and SG&A expenditures.• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team, focusing on performance and future projections.• Direct the financial planning and analysis functions of the company.• Ensure accurate, timely preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.• Oversee cash flow management, investment activities, and decisions related to capital structure.• Monitor the company’s financial performance, pinpoint areas for improvement, and implement necessary corrective actions.• Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including those related to markets, credit, and operations.• Develop and enforce robust internal controls to protect company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.• Align risk management policies and strategies with the company’s overall business objectives.• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, cultivating a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement.• Collaborate with other departments to meet their financial needs and ensure alignment with the company’s broader goals.• Present financial results and strategic plans to the board of directors, investors, and other key stakeholders.• Ensure the company’s financial operations comply with all relevant regulations and standards, including GAAP and IFRS.• Oversee tax planning and compliance efforts, coordinating closely with external auditors and tax advisors.• Uphold corporate governance standards and best practices in the company’s financial activities.Education And Experience Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.• Advanced qualifications MBA or CPA are highly desirable.• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in finance• Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.• Demonstrated expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and risk assessment, particularly within the construction or utilities industries.• Deep knowledge of corporate finance, capital markets, and financial instruments.• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to foster relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.• High integrity and reliability, combined with a strong sense of urgency and a results-driven mindset.• Advanced proficiency in financial software and analytical tools.Interested in hearing more?
