This position requires a highly organized and analytical individual with extensive experience in the manufacturing industry. The Financial Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial data, as well as providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.Key Responsibilities• General Ledger Management• Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.• Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for deviations from budgeted figures.• Accounts Receivable• Supervise the accounts receivable team, ensuring timely and accurate billing and collection of customer payments.• Monitor aging reports and implement strategies to reduce outstanding receivables.• Review and approve credit terms for new and existing customers.• Manage the application of customer payments and resolve any discrepancies or disputes.• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to improve the efficiency of the order-to-cash process.• Accounts Payable• Oversee the accounts payable team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments.• Implement and maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.• Manage the vendor relationship process, including negotiating payment terms and resolving any payment issues.• Approve weekly payment runs and ensure cash flow requirements are met.• Conduct regular audits of accounts payable processes to identify areas for improvement.• Payroll Management• Supervise the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, including taxes, benefits, and deductions.• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.• Manage payroll-related reporting and ensure accurate filing of payroll taxes.• Resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.• Collaborate with the HR department on compensation and benefits administration.Qualifications• Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or CPA/CMA certification is highly preferred.• Experience A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within the manufacturing industry.• Technical Skills Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar), advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with financial reporting software.• Knowledge Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial analysis specific to the manufacturing sector.• Leadership Skills Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.• Analytical Skills Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze complex financial data.• Compliance In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and experience in ensuring compliance with financial laws and regulations.Key Competencies• Strategic Thinking Ability to provide financial insights that align with the company’s strategic goals.• Integrity High ethical standards and a commitment to transparency in financial reporting.• Adaptability Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.• Collaboration Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.• Communication Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Interested in hearing more?
