The firm supports and encourages professional growth, and respects its staff personally and professionally by providing a work/life balance environment, making everyone feel part of the team, and providing top training and stimulating, complex work.Why join us?• Work + Life Balance• Great Compensation Package• Generous PTO/Holiday• 401k matchJob DetailsStaff Tax Accountant- our client is a certified public accounting firm specializing in income tax planning for businesses and high net worth individuals with an emphasis in the areas of estate and trust taxation.• The staff accountant will work in the tax department and will assist with the preparation of tax returns, including those with a high degree of complexity.• Will assist with tax planning and projections, while interacting with members of the team at all levels, as well as client personnel, as needed.• Keep abreast of current trends, issues, laws, and practices in the tax field.• Participate in staff development initiatives and firm sponsored training.Qualifications• B.A. or B.S. degree with a major in Accounting.• Either hold a current and valid CPA or EA license or working toward obtaining one.• 3 – 4 years’ relevant tax experience in public accounting, and experience with complex returns.• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards.• Experience in review, research, and tax planning with an understanding of income tax laws and regulations.• Ability to research and resolve government correspondences and assessments.• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and high integrity.• Working knowledge of tax and accounting software and Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work on several projects simultaneously and complete tasks in a timely manner.• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Interested in hearing more?
