This work is performed under general supervision using the tools and techniques of various technologies, including electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing.COMPETENCIES: A.Education:High school diploma or equivalent.B.Knowledge:Knowledge of basic electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing techniques, procedures, and materials.Knowledge of building elements and codes.Knowledge of safety rules, procedures, and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards.C.Skills:Applies trades and safety knowledge indicated herein.Safely uses tools and equipment indicated herein.Ability to solve problems and manage information indicated herein.Requires proficient written and verbal English communication skills, at least on a high school graduate level, to interact with departmental/JHM staff.Identifies and avoids hazards as indicated by warning labels, signage, lights, and other warning devices.Performs work within a reasonable time as measured against trade, industry, or engineered standards.D.Required Licensure, Certification, etc.:N/AE.Work Experience:5 years related work experience in all aspects of building repairs using carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills.The full-time equivalent in trades programs may count toward the 5-year work experience requirement.F.Machines, Tools, Equipment:All types of tools and equipment are normally used in the various trades, including specialized equipment, common powered bench and hand tools (such as drills, grinders, compressed air), and non-powered hand tools.JHM prioritizes the health and well-being of every employee.
