The Depuy Synthes (DPS) Instrument Supply Chain Improvement Leader is responsible for enabling change by partnering cross functionally to root cause and improve systemic issues that influence instrument reliability. Specifically, this position is accountable to develop and advance innovation-centric programs that enable step change capability which address infrastructure limitations and inefficiencies. Select initiatives must catalyze value creation across short and mid term horizons and will require close partnering with DPS Platform Value Stream Leaders (VSL's). This leader is expected to develop a deep understanding of the DPS instrument portfolio and influence product development and lifecycle management decisions in-line with the Instruments strategic roadmap with the goal of optimizing the balance between manufacturing/design for reliability & cost to serve. Scope of Responsibilities Develop deep understanding of Product lifecycle and develop, deploy, and implement supply chain strategies for the required responsiveness and agility to better meet customer requirements, such cycle time reduction, SKU rationalization, and BCP strategies. Monitoring product performance (delivery, margin, cost, inventory, quality) against targets. Define corrective actions when required and ensure execution. Connect across industry and enterprise level to identify and develop innovative solutions, best practices and novel approaches for solving on going supply chain challenges such as lead time, demand forecasting, planning, customer service, etc Conduct early engagement to proactively partner with Source, R&R, Marketing and Plan to incorporated key learnings and best practices to develop strategy and plans to reduce complexity and variation in instrument supply chain demand and delivery Interface and ability to lead change with Program Management teams, Procurement, Planning and R&D and other Supply Chain organizations. The position has a direct contribution to the identification and development of business and/or functional strategies. Provide thought leadership to internal and external business partners Primary liaison with the franchise teams to integrate R&D and Commercial strategies, including decomplexity and NPI new technology strategy, into long-term decision making business cases Partner with R&D and other functions to align with targeted technology improvements throughout the Supply Chain. Distill complex technical concepts into tangible initiatives that create stakeholder buy-in through change management approach. Develop, Lead and Drive strategy across sector and engage with technical forums Develop and Lead. in partnership with cross functional partners to ensure new technology strategies are developed for instrument competitive advantage and ensure processes are developed/integrated to institute those strategies are operationalized to achieve short and long term business benefits. Ensures that the organizations are utilizing the appropriate technology and technology strategy to ensure results in the most cost-effective instruments while providing optimum lead and cycle times. Reviews and coordinates activities concerned with technical strategy and development, and resolves manufacturing and supply chain related problems Establishes Technology lifecycle strategies including NPI to obsolescence. Design and implement processes that provide for a high level of internal customer satisfaction. Identify and drive best practices in engineering design and automation though change leadership Evaluate and implement improved Manufacturing Engineering performance, management, and tracking methods to monitor and control costs that will allow the company to complete projects on time and under budget. Establish and implement common technical standards, software systems and capital equipment to be utilized across DPS Franchises Develop and manage to expense and capital budgets per our strategic forecasts. Ensure compliance in all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety per J&J standards. QualificationsQualifications:Undergraduate degree in science, engineering, bio medical engineering. Graduate degree/studies in science or engineering are a plus; MBA is a plus 8 years of experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Engineering. Ability to Lead, Motivate and Inspire cross functional teams to drive significantly increased performance through technical strategy development and change implementation. Deep understanding of the process excellence tool set (LEAN, Six Sigma) with a proven track record of deploying these tools to improve operational performance. Business Process Development experience preferred Solid Business acumen and Value Measurement Development and Implementation of strategic programs/approaches and models that achieve key business goals short and long term.
