Senior Motion Designer (2d)

Jones Knowles Ritchie is a branding business, founded in 1990 and proudly independent ever since.

We started out in the world of packaging, but now we’re worldwide—from three founders, to more than 350 of us across the UK, USA and China. Together, we build and deliver brands across the entire consumer experience.

But even more important than what we do, is why we do it. We’re here to inspire brands and people to be their true selves. To be brave. Be tenacious. And above all, be yourself. Because we believe that’s the only way to truly be distinctive, everywhere.

At JKR, we believe in brands that move – literally and emotionally. We craft motion that speaks, shapes that tell stories, and visuals that live beyond the screen. Now, we’re looking for a Senior Motion Designer with Branding experience and a 2d and Editing focus to join our busy team.

The Role

This isn’t just about making things look slick (though you’ll do that too). It’s about leading motion-first brand thinking, creating best-in-class work for the biggest brands in the world. You’ll define and deliver 2d motion design that elevates narratives, builds identities, and pushes creative boundaries across every touchpoint.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Motion Projects – Own the process from concept to delivery, ensuring high-quality execution.
  • Craft 2D Motion & Brand Films – Create engaging motion design and edit films that bring brands to life.
  • Elevate the Team – Mentor juniors and mids, pushing creative quality and growth.
  • Innovate & Experiment – Stay ahead of trends, refine techniques, and shape our motion offering

Collaboration at JKR

Great motion design doesn’t happen in a vacuum. At JKR, collaboration is everything. You’ll be working side by side with strategists, designers, writers, and clients, ensuring motion is woven into the very fabric of brand thinking. From early-stage ideation to final execution, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team that thrives on pushing each other further.

You’ll collaborate with:
🎨 Designers & Art Directors – to craft seamless brand systems that come to life in motion.
💡 Strategists – to understand the bigger picture and make motion a core part of brand expression.
📝 Writers – to ensure words and motion work in perfect harmony.

At JKR, every voice counts. You’ll be part of a team that challenges, inspires, and supports each other, creating work that moves people—and the industry—forward.

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years of experience in motion design, with a portfolio that excites and inspires.
  • Strong capabilities in required software; Adobe suite with a focus on Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro. Knowledge of 3D software; Cinema 4D + Redshift
  • A strong understanding of brand systems and how to apply them in motion design.
  • The ability to communicate ideas with clarity, confidence, and a little bit of magic.
  • An obsession with craft, from typography to timing, always striving for the best.
  • The drive to push past expectations and create work that defines industries.

Why JKR?

We don’t just make brands move—we make them mean something. Here, you’ll work alongside some of the best in the business, pushing creative limits and shaping what’s next. If you’re ready to take motion design to the next level, we want to hear from you.
