Joybird is the leading maker of handcrafted, custom-built furniture for the modern home and office. Through an innovative online shopping model, Joybird is transforming the way people purchase furniture by putting the customer at the center of the design process. With hundreds of fabrics, finishes and custom dimensions to choose from, each piece of furniture is as unique as the customer creating it. Inspired by mid-century modern design, LA-based Joybird utilizes responsible sourcing and manufacturing practices and offers a 90-day home trial.

Job Summary:
This position is focused on helping our customers navigate Joybird’s collection, helping them figure out what pieces will fit in their space, fit their aesthetic, and fit their lifestyle. As the face of Joybird, our store associates are friendly, solution-oriented, empathetic, self-starters. This role is sales focused in an effort to ensure that the store is meeting their financial goals. Design Consultants keep the conversation going with the customer over the phone or email after they visit the showroom, and provide top tier customer service.

Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be an expert on the full Joybird catalog and provide style advice and product recommendations to suit a customer’s unique needs to help them place their order in the showroom.
  • Reach out to your customers who have previously visited the showroom, but not purchased, to follow-up and convert them into a sale.
  • Liaise with our Customer Service team to provide the best start to end experience for our customers.
  • Maximize sales by growing and maintaining a strong client base by building your own personal clientele book and driving store sales through client follow-up, phone calls and personalized outreach.
  • Maintain the appearance of the showroom.
  • Assist with floor model deliveries and pickups, as well as occasionally helping move furniture around the showroom.

SCOPE & IMPACT:
This role supports retail store financial performance. Locations currently have annual targets between $5-8M in annual sales.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Retail sales experience
  • Skillful at navigating customer service issues.
  • Able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of retail sales experience.
  • Experience with maintaining a personal client book.
  • A passion for interior design and furniture.
  • A self-starter who doesn’t require direction to achieve store and personal goals.
  • Solution-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable with technology (specifically iPads and Macs).
  • Comfortable with G-Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Able to lift and mobilize medium to large items up to 50 lbs while using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.

Pay Range: $18 to $21
