This role ensures efficient operations, coordinating with medical and administrative staff, managing budgets and improving departmental processes to enhance access, delivery of patient care and departmental performance of departments. This position will ensure departmental compliance and will collaborate with other service lines to share best practices, identify opportunities for growth and efficiency. The SDA will ensure the full continuum of care across all hospital services, including outpatient and community services. The SDA reports to the Executive Department Administrator.Essential Job Functions & AccountabilitiesOversees day-to-day operations of the departments assigned, ensuring smooth and efficientworkflow.• Develops, implements, and maintains departmental policies and procedures in compliance withAcclaim/JPS regulations and standards.• Coordinates and schedules departmental meetings, ensuring documentation and follow-up on action items.• Prepares and manages the departmental budget, including tracking expenses, and revenues.• Conducts financial analysis and reporting, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiencyimprovements.• Assists in financial planning and forecasting for the departments.• Supervises administrative teams, including hiring, training, performance evaluations anddisciplinary actions.• Collaborates with HR for recruitment and retention of staff.• Fosters a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and professionaldevelopment.• Identifies, problem solves and implements process improvements to enhance departmentaloperations.• Monitors and analyzes key performance indicators, develops action plans to address areas ofconcern.• Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards and Acclaim/JPSpolicies.• Serves as a liaison between the departments the departments of JPS, facilitation effectivecommunications, collaboration and support.• Represent the departments in Acclaim/JPS committees and meetings.• Prepares and presents reports to hospital leadership on departmental performance and initiatives.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities• Knowledge of government and other regulatory agencies.• Knowledge of value-based principles related to safety, quality, and patient/customer experience.• Knowledge of applicable service lines.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.• Skill in financial planning and business administration.• Organizational skills to manage a growth-oriented department.• Communication skills to present ideas clearly, both orally and written.• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.• Ability to work as a member of a team and independently.• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources.• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.• Ability to act as a source of knowledge for staff and patient families.• Ability to be alert and able to concentrate on many different items.• Ability to establish and maintain a professional relationship with physicians, supervisors, andother hospital staff.• Ability to read and understand medical terminology to schedule appointments to appropriate clinicand/or ancillary services.• Ability to make good decisions regarding patient needs and requests and/or refer patients toSupervisors.• Ability to work productively under stressful situations.• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms, and other printed materials and information.• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephonesystems, and face-to-face interactions.• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending,crouching, walking, kneeling, and prolonged sitting.• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 25 lbs.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:• Master’s degree from a recognized college or university in Healthcare Administration, Nursing,Public Health, assigned service line or related field.• 7 years overall healthcare experience.• 5 plus years of strong operations management experience in leading multi-specialty or specialty specificpractices.Preferred Qualifications• 10 plus years of solid operations management experience.• Training in LEAN philosophy with Green Belt certification or eligibility.• FACHE• MGMA CertificationLocation Address:1500 S.
