Junior HR Business Partner

POSITION SUMMARY:

Bass Pro Shops is in search of a Junior Human Resources Business Partner who will be responsible for assisting the HR Business Partner team, in the implementation and execution of all HR policies and procedures. The Junior HRBP should possess a business savvy mindset with a solid understanding of various HR metrics and measurements. At the direction of the HR Business Partners, help create and lead onsite HR programs and initiatives to ensure all Bass Pro Outfitters have a positive and rewarding employee life cycle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the HR Business Partners in administering HR policy, procedure, programs, and administrative tasks.
  • Assist with and facilitate onboarding, retention, engagement, and development programs.
  • Acts as a point of contact to address human resources related questions and concerns from staff and management. Works collaboratively with HR resources to provide service to all Base Camp Outfitters.
  • Assist HR Business Partner on workforce planning and forecasting initiatives in alignment with HR and organization/department goals. Gathers sufficient information to support job evaluation and classification decisions. Supports job descriptions and position documentation.
  • This position follows federal and state constitutional requirements and the Company's policy. The individual uses judgment and discretion to develop HR solutions through partnering and counseling managers and or business leaders on associate related matters.
  • Develops strong relationships with business leaders and possesses the ability to influence, negotiate and communicate effectively. Be seen as a trusted resource to Outfitters
  • Ability to maintain strict confidence with all sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proactively pulls and interprets HR business metrics. Ability to identify key themes through storytelling with the data that enables the HR Business Partners in Talent Management activities/projects and day to day operations.
  • Investigates complaints at the direction of the HR Business Partners.
  • Analyzes and reports on HR related data to HR Business Partner and respective business units. Provides interpretation, guidance, and expertise for HR metrics so that business leaders can make decisions
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Business Partners
  • Remains informed of changing statutes and regulatory impacts on policies and procedures within the state of operation as well as keeping up with federal changes that may impact the company or the associates.
  • Champion the company culture. Drive the open-door environment.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Business Human Resources or related degree preferred
  • Certificate(s) or License(s): SHRM-CP preferred
  • Experience: 4-6+ years of experience. 2 or more years in an HR position or the equivalent experience required
  • Experience with project management preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams
  • Extensive communication (written and verbal), mediation (conflict resolution) and facilitation skills
  • Experience establishing and maintaining collaborative internal and external working relationships. Self-starter, able to work both autonomously and collaboratively with associated teams.
  • Visionary with long term focus - able to see the result
  • Self-starter: demonstrates personal initiative and willingly assumes responsibility and ownership
  • Personal or professional commitment to diversity as demonstrated by persistent effort, active planning, allocation of resources and/or accountability for diversity outcomes.
  • Exemplary standards of integrity, personal work ethic and continuous involvement in self education and development
  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft suit tools,
  • Workday experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly performs computer work and sits.
  • Occasionally walks and stands.
  • Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
