Overview:
SRI Education is committed to bringing rigorous and equitable research and evaluation data to bear on important educational policy and practice decisions that support practitioners, students, and families. We are seeking a junior project coordinator to join our team to support projects focusing on early childhood and early intervention/early childhood special education.
Assignments will primarily support SRI’s leadership of the Center for IDEA Early Childhood Data Systems (DaSy Center). The DaSy Center is a national technical assistance center that works with states to support IDEA early intervention and early childhood special education state programs in building high quality data systems and using data to improve results for young children with disabilities and their families.
Other assignments may include work on technical assistance and research projects related to education and early childhood systems reform, children’s behavioral and social-emotional skill building, and children and youth with disabilities. The position offers opportunities for professional growth and promotion commensurate with skills and performance.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide project and activity coordination support, specifically by tracking progress of activity tasks, reporting to and consulting with task leaders on work progress, scheduling, coordinating, and taking notes for meetings and project activities, and maintaining project management documents such as schedules and status reports for task leaders and DaSy Center leadership. The successful candidate also will be able to support technical assistance activities that involve planning and building relationships with team members, partners, and stakeholders. This will include supporting teams working on building state staff data skills, developing toolkits and training webinars, family data leadership activities, and other early childhood data systems building activities.
Typical duties include the following:

Coordinate groups to implement activity workplans

Support scheduling, facilitation, and documentation of team and stakeholder meetings on the Zoom platform

Understand and apply learning across tasks

Communicate effectively with partners and team members

Support team and client use of online community platforms and project management platforms

Support workgroup and activity leaders in planning and executing technical assistance activities

Synthesize and report progress on activity workplans
Qualifications:
Required qualifications include:
-
At least three years of prior work experience or equivalent experience coordinating projects, assisting in event planning, and meeting planning

Good people skills, a desire to learn, and the ability to communicate clearly, including strong writing skills.

Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail; capacity to support multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to attend to details, problem solve, and modify approaches in consideration of practical concerns.

Professional or volunteer experience in the education system.

Knowledge of and experience with software applications such as Zoom, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

An interest in early childhood education and a passion to improve education equity and quality for all students.

Willingness to travel 2-3 times per year for conferences and meetings; most visits will be for 2-4 days each.
Candidates with the following qualifications preferred:

A bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or related policy fields and at least one year of prior work experience or equivalent experience

Experience working in early childhood programs (i.e., Head Start, state preschool programs, early childhood education, early childhood intervention).

Experience with online community platforms as a user, moderator, or administrator.

The salary range is: $65,000-$70,000. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles.
