This position leads and directs the talent and organizational development strategy for the university through the following:• Creates and executes strategic and tactical plans to deliver high impact training that establishes a culture of career growth, pathways, and opportunity for all employees.• Ensures alignment of professional development offerings with the K-State strategic plan.• Designs adult-learner focused onboarding, orientation, mentoring, and recognition programs that support the full employee lifecycle.• Prioritizes a culture of well-being through promoting a variety of programming supporting employees at all levels.• Prepares the workforce for operational excellence initiatives through change management, streamlining, and other organizational change concepts.• Collaborates with university stakeholders to develop and host training content on technology, university systems, policies, and other educational programing.• Implements talent and organizational development feedback program to measure effectiveness.The Talent and Organizational Director serves as the leader of the talent and organizational development team, manages resources, supervises and develops team members. Remote work agreements are required for all flexible work arrangements and are subject to review.What You'll Need to Succeed:Minimum Qualifications:• Requires a bachelor's degree and five to 10 years of relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications:• The successful candidate must have a record of experience as a strategic leader who is customer and business driven with a demonstrated commitment to customer service and the ability to integrate human resource strategies to improve an institution's overall programs and services.• Success as a collaborator, relationship builder, and change agent, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build coalitions and collaborative working relationships with a broad range of diverseindividuals and groups, including senior executives, to achieve results.• At least 10 years of progressive HR leadership in human resources, including experience in key areas such as compensation, workforce development, recruitment and succession planning, performance management employee engagement, and HR systems and data analytics, with some of that experience in a complex higher education environment at or near the executive level.• A proven record of success in an administrative leadership position with responsibility for guiding strategy, budget planning and financial management, staffing and personnel management, policy formulation, business planning and operations, continuous service improvement, and risk management.• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively to diverse groups of stakeholders.• Ability to make timely decisions using sound judgment and including others in decision-making processes as appropriate.• Success in fostering a workplace free from discrimination and bias• Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment-related laws and regulations• Knowledge of and experience with human resources information systems.• Advanced degree of J.D.• Experience with large, human resource centric ERP implementations• Experience working with collective bargaining units within a higher education environment.• Experience in a multi-campus university system or a multi-location organization• Demonstrated experience consulting and advising senior-level executives in broad areas of human resources.• Demonstrated strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation expertise and large-scale program implementation experience.• Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certificationOther Requirements:• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.How to Apply:Please submit the following documents:• Resume• Letter of interestScreening of Applications Begins:Immediately and continues until position is filled.Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:$96,000 - $105,000Equal Employment Opportunity:Kansas State University is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
