The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing the paid social media strategy for Kaplan’s Higher Education vertical. This includes leading strategy across various social platforms, managing and maintaining vendor relationships, directing a testing calendar, providing creative direction, managing and optimizing budgets, analyzing performance metrics, and providing recommendations. This role aims to enhance brand awareness, drive engagement, and generate results for our higher education programs.
Primary/Key Responsibilities
  • Recommend and develop comprehensive paid social media strategies in alignment with overall marketing objectives.
  • Understand vendor offerings and Alpha/Betas in order to recommend tests, and maintain a social testing calendar
  • Forecast results and budgets on a month-to-month basis
  • Utilize analytics tools to track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead attribution models
  • Provide regular reports detailing campaign performance, insights, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Utilize advanced targeting options to reach specific demographics, interests, and behaviors.
  • Regularly update and refine audience targeting based on campaign insights.
  • Manage and allocate advertising budgets effectively to achieve campaign objectives.
  • Monitor spending and provide budget adjustment recommendations based on performance and enrollments
  • Work closely with the implementation team on executing strategies
  • Collaborate with Marketing Analytics and Marketing Technology teams regarding attribution, audience building and modeling.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of proven experience as a Social Media Manager or in a similar role, managing large monthly budgets.
  • In-depth knowledge in working with paid investments on various social media platforms (primarily Meta, LinkedIn, Snap, and Pinterest ).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics.
  • Ability to organize, trend and analyze large datasets with ease and accuracy.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management and organization skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with ease, prioritizing when necessary. Skilled at using project management tools to manage tasks, create insertion orders, coordinate across teams, track deliverables, and streamline processes for efficiency,
  • Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative ideas.
